One factoid I’ve heard cited in an attempt to discredit the verdict is “Kyle Rittenhouse picked the jurors”.
Well, it seems he drew the juror numbers out of a randomizing drum, which means the selection was still random. I suppose it’s possible he somehow intuited which numbers on which folded pieces of paper corresponded to jurors who would give him a favorable result.
But it should be kept in mind that the selection was among 18 people who had been accepted as jurors. The jurors who were selected were the six who were not going to be on the final jury, except as alternates.
So the appropriate response to this factoid is “so what?”
